Crown of Thorns: Connecting Kingdom and Cross, by Tim Chester: $1.99 Tim Chester is a Brit, and I love almost all things British. He is also the co-author (along with Steve Timmis) of one of my favorite books, Total Church. It seems, broadly speaking, that there are two types of Christians: Those who’s primary focus is to share the Good news of Jesus to the World through evangelism and discipleship, and those who’s primary focus is to ease suffering, take care of the poor, and bring about justice. In this book, Tim shows how both are needed, and both are united in the cross of Jesus.
Speaking of Total Church, a Radical Reshaping Around Gospel and Community, by Tim Chester and Steve Timmis, I just looked and it is only $2.99 today on Kindle! That’s a great deal on one of the most personally influential books I’ve ever read. Timmis and Chester here advocate a vision of church that is not building-centric, not Sunday morning service-centric, but is community-centric and every day. If you haven’t read this book – you should!
Exalting Jesus in 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus (Christ Centered Exposition Commentary) by David Platt, $2.99 – An excellent value (336 pages!) on a great commentary series by an exceptional author. I love David Platt, and purchased this book myself in February.
Martyn Lloyd Jones: From Wales to Westminster, Christopher Catherwood: $1.99 This Trailblazers series book is a biography of English pastor and writer Martyn Lloyd Jones – one of the most solid writers and preachers I have ever encountered. The Trailblazers series are excellent books for adults and are perfect for nightly read-alongs with kids and teenagers in your home.
Family Driven Faith, Doing What it Takes to Raise Sons and Daughters Who Walk With God by Voddie Baucham: $3.99 I own this book, and appreciate its challenge to dads and moms a great deal. This will challenge you, but it is a good read and a very worthy buy at $3.99.
Experiencing the Holy Spirit, by Andrew Murray $.99 I learned much about prayer from this old Dutch Reformed pastor, and author of the book Praying at the Feet of Jesus. Here is his book on the person and work of the Holy Spirit.

Auschwitz: A Doctor’s Eyewitness Account, By Miklos Nyiszli: $1.99 – I haven’t read this work, but I probably should. Very highly rated on Amazon, and marked down heftily today. Tells the bone-chilling and tragic story of the Jewish suffering at Auschwitz from one of Josef Mengele’s pathology assistants. Wow.
Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee: An Indian History of the American West, by Dee Brown $2.99 I haven’t read this book either, but know it to be a very influential historical book of the last 50 years that speaks of the history of the Western United States from a different perspective than most have heard. Almost 500 pages, might be worth a look at this price.
